Pillow Fighter Fan Club

Pillow Fighters is an endless pajama/slumber party with a twist. Don’t worry, we’re not dressed like the logo. I’m in plaid pj pants, a T-shirt, and fuzzy pink socks. That’s my everyday work attire.

This is a place for Michelle M. Pillow readers. A place where super readers of my books can share and mingle with me, no matter what hemisphere you’re in.

What is a Pillow Fighter?

A Super Fan (or Super Reader, if you prefer) of my books. I write Romance, Paranormal Women’s Fiction, Paranormal Romance, Sci-Fi Romance, and Romantasy. Pillow Fighters don’t just read the books. They love them.

Why the name Pillow Fighters?

The readers voted on social media and this is what you all decided you wanted to be, and I love it. Pillow Fighters is a fun, playful way to be on the same team. You support an author you love so I can keep writing the books you want to read.

I love pink. I would live in my pajamas if society would just bend a few dress code rules. I love comfortable snuggly blankets, wine or coffee or tea, candles, and a story that won’t let me go. I love chatting with my readers about Dragon Lords and beastly historical monster heroes who find their maidenly match. I love curling up with a good book and staying up until 4am just to finish one more chapter. I know a lot of my readers love those things too.

Everyone over 18 years of age who reads my books is welcome. And I do mean everyone.

What do you want this to be?

Pillow Fighters is about the readers as much as it is about me. Have an idea for the club? Want to start a discussion or pitch something? The fan club Facebook group is the best place. That’s where readers actually hang out and chat with each other. You can also email me through the contact page. It doesn’t have to be a promotional idea. Anything goes.

What can a Pillow Fighter do?

Pillow Fighters are Super Fans, Super Readers. That doesn’t mean they are all painted like a sporting event shoving my books in people’s faces, although there really is a Pillow Fighter Fan Club T-shirt in my Fourthwall shop if you want to rep the brand. You’ll see Pillow Fighters proudly waving their pillow logos on social media, talking about my books, leaving reviews, spreading the links around, setting up fan pages or simply hanging out on the ones I provide, offering to pass out promo items at book clubs and conference events, and baking me cupcakes.

What? You know I had to try to eke in the cupcake thing. Someday, I’ll get flooded with them and that day will be glorious.

Pillow Fighters do what they can with what they have to help. Not everything has to be grand and over the top. Keep it within your comfort level. Reading is fun, not stress. Even leaving a small review on a site like Amazon for a book you love is a tremendous help.

A serious moment: readers like my PFs are invaluable to me as an author. It’s with the help of dedicated readers that I’m able to do what I do. You buy the books when they come out. You tell people about them. You help spread the links to my website so I get better google rankings. These are not things I can do on my own. I need you. All of you. You support me when I struggle with the muse. You email me happy thoughts and make me smile.

If you’re still reading this, you are most likely a Pillow Fighter. Welcome.

Is this going to cost me?

No. Being awesome is free.

Pillow Fighter Rules

  1. The first rule of Pillow Fight Club is that you talk about Pillow Fight Club. (I love the 90s. Of course we’re doing this joke.)
  2. No low blows. Keep it friendly and positive.
  3. Have fun, and know that I deeply appreciate you.
  4. 18 years or older only, like my books.

How to help spread the word

Anything you can think of to spread the word about my books, please do. Talk about them with others. Everyone has different talents, experiences, and comfort levels. Stick within yours. A few of the highest-impact things:

  • Leave an honest review wherever you bought the book. This is the single biggest thing readers can do for an author.
  • Tap Like, Share, and Repost on book pages at vendors and on my social posts.
  • Tag my accounts when you post about the books so I can like and share.
  • Add my books to your Goodreads or Amazon lists alongside similar reads.
  • Ask your local library or bookstore to carry the titles. Library demand really moves the needle.
  • Talk about the books online. The majority of my readers find me online.
  • Email me through the contact page if you find a promo opportunity I should know about, see book pirating, or want to invite me to visit a reader group.

What does “Pillow Fighter” mean?

What is a Super Reader?

How can I help spread the word about Michelle M. Pillow’s books?

The single biggest thing is leaving honest reviews on the retailer where you bought the book. Other ways: share book links on social media and tag Michelle’s accounts so she can like and share, ask your local library or bookstore to carry the titles, recommend the books to friends who read in the same genres, and follow Michelle on Bookbub so the algorithm helps surface new releases.

Can I request promotional bookmarks or other Pillow Fighter swag?

Sometimes, yes, when promotional items are in stock. Send a request through the contact page with the subject line PROMO GOODIES.
