Q & A with the Author
What’s a misconception about midlife that you’d like to clear up?
That your value is less. This is absolutely not true. Experience, and knowing yourself is such a rewarding place to be.
Tell us a bit about your story.
This short story follows an empath, a sorcerer of the mind, traveling to a small town to research a curious case involving a curse. But the town isn’t as welcoming, except for one of the local magic wielding men. Is he a friend, foe, or lover?
Tell us about your experience writing a book for the Aged to Perfection Antho.
This was such a fun experience, and to be able to chat with other newer authors like myself about our processes and working in this genre was like a virtual writer’s retreat.
Tell us about one of your upcoming titles.
The next title in the Hexed On A Feeling series will involve a heavy magical element that Nicole hasn’t dealt with before. We’re going to get to know her more.
Do you have a writing routine?
I have been maintaining a strict morning writing routine for the last while. Then I take a break, followed by some sporadic writing later in the evening.
If you could live the life of one single character in your story, who would it be and why?
It’s probably an obvious answer, but my main character Nicole. While it was harder on her when she was younger, now that she has really come into her own with her power, she has become less deferential, and more confident. There’s still more for her to learn, but she’s ready for it!
Do you have a personal connection with any of the characters in your story? Does one resonate with you more than the others?
I was told early in life that I was too sensitive. So I wanted to create a character where that sensitivity wasn’t a liability, but an asset. By taking it to a paranormal level, it became a power for our heroine.
How long have you been writing?
I began writing about ten years ago, when I was traveling and met so many interesting people.
Do you have other books out or planned that are related to your anthology story? If so, which ones?
I have more books planned. I will continue following Nicole and Jayson on their next adventure together. Different locale, different scenario. We’ll see their relationship shift and grow in this paranormal world.
